About this diet
Duck sits in an unusual position on the menu. It is rich and full-flavoured enough to tempt dogs who have gone off their food, yet it is a protein very few dogs have eaten regularly - which makes it both a treat and a genuinely useful option for sensitive dogs.
This recipe is built on 52% lean, skinless duck breast, and it is one of the highest-protein foods in our range at 17.3 g per 100 g. Using skinless breast keeps fat moderate at 5.2 g, so the protein does the work rather than the fat. A measured 3% of duck liver adds vitamin A, B12, folate and iron in the concentrated, highly absorbable form only organ meat provides.
Brown rice and sweet potato supply low-GI carbohydrates for energy that lasts, while broccoli, carrot, green bean and blueberries contribute fibre and natural antioxidants. Fish oil brings omega-3 for skin, coat and joints, and eggshell powder together with our own nutrient blend balances the calcium-to-phosphorus ratio.
This is one of six recipes in our Low Allergy series - duck, fish, pork, lamb, turkey and venison. Each is built on a protein most dogs have rarely encountered, so if one doesn't suit your dog, there are five others to move to without leaving fresh food.
Formulated by a PhD veterinary nutritionist to meet AAFCO and FEDIAF standards and suitable for all life stages, gently cooked in our own Hong Kong kitchen from human-grade ingredients, with no preservatives, fillers or artificial colours.
