Weight Management (Fish) Therapeutic Fresh Dog Food

4.9 · Google In stock

Feel-full fish nutrition for happy, healthy weight loss. A satisfying, lower-calorie fresh food that helps dogs lose weight without the hunger. Lean pollock and added psyllium fibre keep tummies full and cravings down, while sustainable plant-based microalgae DHA delivers premium omega-3 - all complete and balanced to AAFCO/FEDIAF standards.

  • Low calorie density - Bigger portions, fewer calories, less begging.
  • High protein - Lean pollock preserves lean muscle while fat is lost.
  • High fibre for fullness - Psyllium husk plus broccoli, spinach and green beans slow the meal and prolong satiety.
  • Controlled carbohydrate - Measured potato and sweet potato, so starch never crowds out protein and fibre.
  • Selenium maintained - Supports antioxidant enzymes during calorie restriction.
  • Omega-3 for a healthy coat - With a favourable omega-6:omega-3 balance, supporting skin, coat and metabolic health.

About this diet

Overweight is the most common nutritional disorder in dogs, and it is not merely cosmetic. Excess body fat is linked to osteoarthritis, reduced exercise tolerance, breathing difficulty, diabetes risk and a measurably shorter life - dogs kept lean have been shown to live meaningfully longer than their overweight littermates.

Weight loss usually fails for a predictable reason: simply feeding less of a normal food leaves a dog hungry, begging and miserable, so the diet quietly stops. This recipe is designed around that problem. Calorie density is kept low, so your dog still gets a bowl that looks and feels like a proper meal while taking in fewer calories, and fibre is high - from psyllium husk and a generous helping of broccoli, spinach and green beans - which slows the meal down and prolongs the feeling of fullness between meals.

Protein is kept high for a reason. In a calorie deficit the body will break down muscle as well as fat unless there is enough dietary protein to protect it, so lean pollock helps ensure the weight your dog loses is fat rather than lean tissue. Carbohydrate is controlled and comes from measured potato and sweet potato, which keeps the calorie balance and stops starch crowding out protein and fibre, and selenium is maintained to support antioxidant enzymes through the restriction.

Fat is moderate - low enough to cut calories, but not so low that essential fatty acids and omega-3 are lost. These support skin and coat and help counter the low-grade inflammation of obesity. Feed to your dog's target weight rather than its current weight, aim for a gradual loss of roughly one to two percent of body weight per week, and have your vet confirm the target and rule out medical causes of weight gain.

FAQ

This is a therapeutic recipe formulated for dogs with overweight or obesity. Nutrient levels are deliberately adjusted for that condition, so it is best started and monitored under veterinary guidance.

It is a complete daily meal, not a topper. The recipe is complete and balanced to AAFCO/FEDIAF adult-maintenance standards and can be fed as your dog’s main diet.

Transition gradually over 7–10 days: start with about a quarter new food mixed into the old, then increase the proportion every 2–3 days until fully switched. Go slower for dogs with sensitive digestion.

Use the feeding guide on this page, which is based on your dog’s ideal body weight rather than current weight. Actual needs vary with age, activity and disease stage, so adjust to maintain condition and review with your vet.

It ships frozen. Keep it in the freezer on arrival, move a pack to the fridge the night before feeding, and use within 3 days once thawed.

Our food is made with natural, whole ingredients, so appearance and texture vary slightly between batches - meat, vegetables and fruit change with the season and the harvest. Every batch is made to the same recipe and nutritional standard and passes the same quality checks, so the nutrition your dog receives stays the same.
