Low Allergy Turkey is built for dogs who react to the everyday proteins. Chicken and beef are by far the most common triggers of food sensitivity in dogs, simply because they are what most dogs eat most. Turkey is close enough to poultry to be familiar and palatable, but different enough that a dog sensitised to chicken will usually tolerate it.
It is a lean recipe, at 5.3 g of fat per 100 g, while still delivering 15.6 g of protein. That combination suits active dogs, dogs holding muscle as they age, and owners who would rather protein did the work than fat.
The recipe includes a measured amount of turkey kidney. Organ meat is far denser in iron, zinc and B vitamins than muscle meat, and providing those minerals from food rather than synthetic additives means they arrive in the form dogs absorb most efficiently. Brown rice and sweet potato give slow-release energy; broccoli and carrot supply vitamins and beta-carotene.
